Kurt thinks that smoking makes him look sexy but, at parent's evening, he spots a woman, Shelley, he likes and thinks he could easily get her to sleep with him because she has got three kids with three different dads. But when he's talking to her she quickly moves away and, after some investigation, Brian discovers his breath smells of stale cigarettes. Kurt decides to quite smoking.
Everyone has bets on how long he will last and he really struggles to stop and replaces his cigarettes with food. He tells Troy, Shelley's son, to tell his mum he has stopped smoking. He nearly starts again after a bad day but is nearly seen by Shelley. She tells him if he wants help or advice he can ring her so he does and they go out. The babysitter rings her though as her daughter is ill so she has to go but says she will see him the next night. The next night they meet and Kurt pays for a meal then afterwards thinks they are going to go back to her place for sex but she says she doesn't fancy him she just wanted to help him. He says he only went after her because she must be easy because of her kids but she tells him she adopted them. Kurt goes back to the pub and starts smoking again, after Matt loses the bet.
Liz tells Brian she isn't happy with Kayla's progress in Geography. Kayla tells him she gets bored because his voice in monotonous and repeatitive. He tries to use different tones of voice but that doesn't work. Matt says maybe it's because he is Northern so Brian tries to sound less Northern but Liz has a go at him again. Matt and Lindsay tell him it's just racism. Matt tells him to go and ask Liz for advice because she has probably been predujiced against too. They are winding him up knowing Liz will just snap at him but he doesn't know and goes to see her. She has a go at him and he snaps back telling her it's no wonder Kayla is the way she is. He then tells Matt he needs to help him come up with a plan like Kurt would. Matt asks Brian what Kurt would do and Brian says ultimately they would do nothing so Matt suggests he should do nothing in this case aswell.
Bob tells the others he's moved out of his car but doesn't tell them where but then Brian finds his stuff in the equipment room in the gym and isn't happy.
